NGC 1908-S Indian Head Cent VG-8
This 1908-S (San Francisco Mint) Indian Head Variety 3 cent is graded at VG-8 (very good 8 out of a possible 70, and encapsulated in hard acrylic by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The coin has some significant discoloration on the obverse in a multi line pattern. This can be seen in the enlarged pictures provided.
The Indian Head Cent Variety 3 was also designed by James B Longacre, and was minted from 1864-1909. The coin changed from the copper and nickel alloy to bronze. This variety continued until 1909 when the Indian Head cent was replaced by the Lincoln Cent.
