This 1883 Hawaiian Dime is graded at AU-58 (about uncirculated 58 out of a possible 70) and encapsulated in hard acrylic by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The coin has wear that is typical of this grade, and has fairly heaving toning on both the obverse and reverse. This can be seen in the enlarged pictures attached.
These coins were designed by Charles Barber and struck at the San Francisco Mint for the Kingdom of Hawaii. On the obverse is King Kalakaua I. When Hawaii became at U.S. territory in 1900, these coins lots their legal tender value.
