NGC 1896-S Barber Half FA-2
This 1896-S Barber Half Dollar was graded at FA-2 (Fair, 2 out of a possible 70) and encapsulated in hard acrylic by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The coin has significant wear, which is common in this grade. The coin can be seen in greater detail in the enlarged pictures provided.
The Barber half dollar was designed by Charles E. Barber and was minted from 1892-1915. Barber’s initial “B” is located at the truncation of the neck on the obverse. The coins have reeded edges, and were minted at the Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans (defunct), and San Francisco Mints. Coin weight: 12.5g Composition: .900 silver, .100 copper
