NGC 1877-S Seated Liberty Quarter MS-64
This 1877-S (San Francisco Mint) Seated Liberty quarter dollar graded at MS-64 (mint state 64 out of a possible 70) and encapsulated in hard acrylic case by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corp.). The coin has heavy toning on both sides of the coin, and numerous small dark spots that can easily be seen in the attached pictures.
The Resumed Variety 4 Seated Liberty quarter was designed by Christian Gobrecht, and was minted from 1875-1891. This Variety’s distinguishing characteristic is the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” appear on the obverse. The coins have reeded edges, and were minted at the Philadelphia, New Orleans (defunct), San Francisco, and Carson City (defunct) Mints.
