NGC 1932 Washington Quarter AU-58
1932 George Washington silver quarter-dollar graded at AU-58 (about uncirculated 58 out of a possible 70) and encapsulated in a hard acrylic case by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).The coin has considerable discoloration on both the obverse and reverse, which can easily be seen in the enlarged pictures provided. This is a first year issue of the Washington silver quarter-dollar. The front, or obverse, of the coin is a bust of President George Washington. The back, or reverse, of the coin is an eagle clutching arrows over an olive branch.
The silver George Washington quarters were designed by John Flanagan, and ran from 1932-1964. The design continued after this, but not in silver. Flanagan’s initials JF can be found at the base of George Washington’s neck. The coins were minted at the Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver Mints.
Coin weight: 6.25 grams, .18084 ozt pure silver.
Composition: .900 silver, .100 copper.
