NGC 1881-S Morgan Dollar MS-64
This 1881-S (San Francisco Mint) Morgan Silver Dollar graded at MS-64 (mint state 64 out of a possible 70) and encapsulated in hard acrylic by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The coin has a few very small dark spots on the obverse (around 12 o’clock). Please make sure to pay attention to the enlarged pictures provided.
The Morgan silver dollar was designed by George T. Morgan. The Morgan dollar ran from 1878-1904 and 1921. Morgan’s initial “M” can be found on the obverse at the truncation of the neck. Morgan dollars that were struck sharply hand have a prooflike reflective surface are very rare and usually command a very high premium. The coins have reeded edges, and were struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans (defunct), Carson City (defunct), and San Francisco Mint. Coin weight: 26.73g
